ELECTRIC CLUTCHES

Electric clutches consist of a drive assemby that contain electrical components that connect two shafts to either lock or spin at the speed or decouple to spin at different speeds .  They allow faster cycling times than your pneumatic or hydraulic clutches.  You will find them best suited in automatic machinery applications where the control commands are transmitted through electric signals compared to lever or pedal motions.  Special tip when ordering would be to know the rotational speed, operating voltage, torque rating and power.  The measurements of the shaft, drive and load connections are also important in sizing the electric clutch for your application.

TORQUE LIMITERS & SLIP CLUTCHES

Torque limiters are designed to automatically disengage at a specified torque level. There are a variety of types to choose from including undirectional, overrunning, freewheeling and backstop clutches.  Their primary function is to provide machine protection and reduce repair time during jamming load conditions.  Special tip when ordering these components would be to know the torque rating, rotary power and rotational speed of your application.

CONVEYOR BELTS

Conveyer belts consist of a continuous loop of material that is rotated by two or more pulleys.  The belts are constructed by one or more layers of material depending on the application. The under layer of material provides the linear strength and shape and an over layer(cover) which is usually constructed of rubber or plastic compounds.  Conveyor belts are used in material handling applications such as factory or bulk handling material or to transport industrial and agricultural material such as grain, ore and coal.  Special tip when purchasing these belts would be to know the dimensions including belt thickness, length and width along with operating speed, operating temperature and minimum pulley size.

CONVEYOR COMPONENTS

Conveyor components can include buckets, chains, drives, gates, rollers, screws, seals and idlers. They may be purchased to modify or improve current conveyor applications or to build new conveyor systems.  Apex has accessability to all of these various components. Special tip when inquiring would be to know the conveyor type, maximum load and the environment that the conveyer will be performing in.
