Bearings
BALL BEARINGS

Ball Bearings include variations such as linear, doublerow, spindle, angular contact, deep groove or miniature bearings.  These bearings are used in virtually all types of electric motors because they provide a smooth, low friction motion.  Special tip when inquiring about ball bearings would be to know the outside diameter, overall width and the bore size of your application. Apex can provide you with the leading manufacturers bearings to get this job done.

MOUNTED OR UNMOUNTED BEARINGS

Mounted Bearings are included in pillow blocks and flange housings whereas Unmounted Bearings are stand alone bearings that are used in various components including motors and reducers.  Special tip when inquiring about these bearings would include bore size, flange or pillow block housing and number of bolt holes for your application. Apex's extensive list of suppliers will enable you to get the bearing you need on-time.

ROLLER BEARINGS

Roller Bearings include cylindrical, tapered, thrust, needle and spherical bearings.  These bearings are used in a variety of applications including power generations, mining, gear drives, reduction units, transmissions and conveyor equipment.  Special tip when inquiring about these bearings would be to know the desired life cycle and then determine which bearings basic dynamic load rating can meet that requirement. Apex's close relationship with manufacturers can provide you these bearings within 24 hours so that your company won't lose valuable production time.

PLAIN & SLEEVE BEARINGS
The most basic bearing technology includes both plain and sleeve bearings.   Unlike their counterparts they work using a sliding action instead of the standard rolling action of a ball, needle or roller bearing.  This bearing technology is appropriate for a wide range of applications including automotive equipment, food processing machinery and packaging equipment.  One of the benefits with this type of bearing is that they can be used in various temperature extremes, corrosive applications, submersible applications and limited shaft movement applications.  Special tip when inquiring about these bearings should be housing type and shaft diameter of your application.
